Legal Basis for Data Processing

The data communicated or collected during the browsing of Metro C’s official website do not normally include any additional personal information other than the usual data transmitted through Internet communication protocols (such as domain names, IP addresses – anonymized, operating systems used, types of devices, and browsers used for the connection). These are, in particular, pieces of information not collected to be associated with identified data subjects but which, by their very nature, could allow the identification of users through processing and association with data held by third parties. This category of data includes anonymized IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users connecting to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and computer environment.

Metro C collects anonymized IP addresses of Users for the Cookie Preferences Register to uniquely identify specific consent to the use of cookies. In this case, consent is obtained through the banner placed at the bottom of the page and is always revocable. Refusing consent may result in the inability to provide certain services, and the browsing experience on the site may be reduced.

Other types of personal data processed by Metro C are shared by the Users themselves and may include, depending on the form, the following information: email, first name, last name, phone number, city, and message.

If Users spontaneously submit their curriculum vitae through the website or the contact details provided, additional personal data will be collected and processed by Metro C exclusively for selection purposes. In this case, the legal basis for the processing is the execution of pre-contractual measures requested by the User.

Types of Data Processed and Purposes of Processing

a) Browsing Data

The data processed by Metro C include the aforementioned anonymized IP addresses or domain names of the computers and terminals used by users, URI/URL (Uniform Resource Identifier/Locator) addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and computer environment. They are necessary for the use of web services and are also processed for the following purposes:

  • obtaining statistical information on the use of services (most visited pages, number of visitors by time of day or day, geographical areas of origin, etc.);
  • checking the correct functioning of the services offered.

b) Data Provided by the User

The optional, explicit, and voluntary sending of messages to the contact addresses of Metro C, as well as the completion and submission of forms on the website, involve the acquisition of the sender’s contact data, which are necessary to respond, as well as all the personal data included in the communications.

c) Cookies and Other Tracking Systems

METRO C only uses technical cookies. As further detailed in the dedicated cookie policy, no profiling cookies or tracking cookies are used. The only processing performed involves the production of statistics, using pseudonymized data, on browsing through the use of Matomo.

Session cookies (non-persistent) are used for technical purposes, strictly limited to what is necessary for secure and efficient browsing of the site.

d) Information about the Processing of Personal Data through Social Media Platforms Used by Metro C

Cookie Policy

Types of Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information inserted into the user’s browser when they visit a website or use a social network with their PC, smartphone, or tablet. Each cookie contains different data such as the name of the server it comes from, a unique numerical identifier, etc.

Cookies can remain in the system for the duration of a session (until the browser used for web browsing is closed) or for longer periods and may contain a unique identification code.

Technical Cookies

Some cookies are used for computer authentication, session monitoring, and the storage of specific information about users accessing a web page.
These cookies, known as technical cookies, are often useful because they can make browsing and using the web faster and more efficient, such as by facilitating certain procedures when making online purchases, when logging into restricted access areas, or when a website automatically recognizes the language you usually use.
A particular type of cookie, called analytics cookies, is used by website operators to collect aggregated information about the number of users and how they visit the site, and therefore to compile general statistics on the service and its use.

Profiling Cookies

Other cookies can be used to monitor and profile users during navigation, study their movements and browsing or consumption habits (what they buy, what they read, etc.), even for the purpose of sending targeted and personalized advertising (so-called Behavioral Advertising). In this case, we are talking about profiling cookies. It may happen that a web page contains cookies from other sites and content hosted on the page itself, such as advertising banners, images, videos, etc. These are called third-party cookies and are usually used for profiling purposes. Given the particular invasiveness that profiling cookies (especially third-party cookies) may have on the user’s private sphere, European and Italian legislation provides that users must be adequately informed about their use and must express their valid consent to the insertion of cookies on their terminal.

Cookies Used by Metro C and Analytics

The website www.metrocspa.it only uses essential technical cookies to make the site’s services easier and more efficient for users viewing web pages. No profiling cookies are used. Users who access the site will receive small amounts of information on their devices in use, whether they are computers or mobile devices, in the form of small text files, known as “cookies,” stored in the directories used by their browsers.

In particular, Metro C uses navigation data collection and aggregation software useful for providing reporting to analyze the site’s performance, called MATOMO. This system anonymizes the IP address, which is an important protection for the user, as the data collected is considered anonymous or pseudonymized, and it is no longer possible to identify the visitor due to the removal of personal references.

The cookies used by www.metrocspa.it allow you to:

  • store browsing preferences;
  • avoid entering the same information multiple times;
  • analyze the use of services and content provided by the site to optimize the browsing experience.

The website www.metrocspa.it uses technical cookies. In this case, the information generated by the cookie regarding the use of the site is transmitted to:

  • Artattack Group, based in Rome, for hosting activities and managing images collected through webcams installed at the construction sites.

These data recipients use this information to produce reports on the site’s activities, intended for the Data Controller or subjects appointed by it.

You can refuse to provide browsing data by selecting the appropriate setting in your browser. However, this choice may prevent you from using all the site’s functionalities.

On the contrary, by accepting the use of cookies as described above and continuing to browse, users freely and unconditionally consent to the processing of personal data by the Data Controller and Artattack Group in the manner and for the purposes described above.

From the moment the user clicks on the Twitter/Instagram icon, they are directed to the respective site and receive cookies that are not under the control of the Data Controller METRO C S.c.p.A.
