Superintendent Francesco Prosperetti expressed, “Line C, starting from its first station at Pantano, near the ancient city of Gabii, has proven to be an astonishing archaeological site. There have been significant discoveries, among the most important made in Rome in recent years, culminating with the discovery of these mosaic-floored rooms with frescoed walls and ceilings. This discovery is being showcased today after a complex process of excavation, consolidation, and cleaning, before it is dismantled to allow the passage of the tunnel boring machines, which is imminent.”
