SEMINAR/TECHNICAL VISIT TO LINE C’S SAN GIOVANNI STATION AND SHAFT 3.3

On Monday, 29 May, a technical seminar was held, organised by the Engineering Society of the
Province of Rome in collaboration with AIIT, Roma Metropolitane, and Metro C. The
approximately 90 guests visited the San Giovanni work site and the Shaft 3.3 work site.

The aim of the educational event was analyse, from the technical standpoint, both the excavation
methods used to build the San Giovanni Line C station, and those that are being adopted for the
connecting tunnel with the shaft constructed by microtunnelling and subsequent blind bore
enlargement. At the same time, it will be possible to visit the exhibition space set up at the San
Giovanni station, displaying the archaeological finds unearthed during the excavations.
