Archaeological finds

The design of the San Giovanni station underwent considerable changes following the results of archaeological core samples prerequisite for the construction of the perimeter diaphragm walls, in addition to the archaeological finds unearthed during the preventive excavations done on section T3 at the gardens of Via Sannio. The prescriptions of the Archaeological Superintendency led to a design change involving a modification in the horizontal and vertical alignment, with lowering of the gradient starting from the Lodi Station, and the consequent underpassing of the existing Line A San Giovanni station.
